This home, built in the 1980’s, was in desperate need for a renovation. The layout no longer fit the family’s modern life style. By relocating a few walls, we were able to achieve a plan that worked for all of the family members.
When renovating a home, I often think about the history of the home. This home was built on a former cherry tree farm. I decided to think of the house as “the Farmhouse” and used that as design inspiration. Painted cabinetry, oil-rubbed hardware, wood plank floors, historic tile patterns, historic plumbing fixtures and lighting fixtures all assist in creating the farmhouse feel.
